Last Satueday, Andy and I went on a Photowalk We started at the Water Tower and walked North on Michigan Ave. There's a small park at the corner of Oak and Michigan (across from the Drake) - good nature photo ops. The we crossed under Lake Shore Drive and walked up the lakefront. We crossed back under Lake Shore Drive at Division. (Don't like those tunnels) And wound up at the colorful Near North Side Farmer's Market (Division & Dearborn) We then wound our way back to Water Tower Place and had lunch at Food Life.

Day two of the Chicago air show included signtings of F-14's, F-22's, and the B-1 and B-2 - as well from the Blue Angels, a harrier, and the Lima Lima flight team. All conveniently 20 feet from the kitchen :)

It's THAT weekend again. Because it's the 50th anniversary, things started mid-day on Friday and culminated around 9pm with planes and parachuters illuminated by trails of light followed by fireworks over North Avenue beach. If you you need me, I'll be on the terrace :)

It's been 220 days, but I finally finished going through the pictures from our Christmas trip to Kenya and Zanzibar . I had no idea back on January 4th when I posted some early image statistics that it would take this long, but it's been a busy year. Favorite parts of the trip? The landscape of Samburu The herds of ellies and reticulated giraffes in samburu The pride of lions with nine four-week-old cubs in the Mara Lunch at the Karen Blixen house during a layover in Nairobi Least favorite parts of the trip? The Zanzibar Airport (security screeners should not ask for tips ! ) Crowds at animal signtings (at least in the Mara the rangers were fining people for getting too close) Will there be another trip to Africa? ASAP !
A picture every few days or so...
