The last part of our mobile camping safari brought us to Xigera Tented Camp, deep, DEEP in the Okavango Delta. The camp was the most basic of the ones we visited, but the wildlife, scenery, mokoros, and staff made this our favorite for sure. Another fun find from the little audio recorder: a purring (or maybe growling) lion ! If I remember correctly, this clip came from a night game drive at Kirkman’s Kamp. It was just after dusk and we were following a pride of six lions, except there turned out to be WAY more lions than initially reported. The more I dig through my files, the more things I find that I completely forgot about. For example, I remembered that I have an entire audio recorder full of random sounds from South Africa and Botswana.
