Sweetwaters
We spent two nights in a tented lodge at the Sweetwaters Conservation area, about a four-hour drive north of Nairobi. Our visit included a night drive, and a visit to the chimp sanctuary.

We then drove another four hours to Samburu, where we spent three nights and saw an amazing number of reticulated giraffes, massive herds elephants, and the rest of the Samburu five.

We then flew to the Masai where we spent three nights, the highlight of course being two lionesses with nine cubs no more than a couple months old !
zanzibar Zanzibar
And then we flew to Zanzibar, an island off the coast of Tanzaniza, for three days. We stayed in Stonetown and ventured out to the hotel's beachclub.
   
 

Our "once in a lifetime" trip in 2005 created a bit of an Africa addiction. For our third trip to Africa we spent nine days in Kenya followed by three days in Zanzibar due to frequent fyer ticket dates. Originally we viewed this as a time killer, but with the election chaos this turned out to be a scheduling blessing in disguise.
