We used our flight vouchers from Roatan to go to Aruba - it was the only safe place to go during hurricane season. The weather was perfect, but very windy. We stayed at the Sonesta, located in Seaport Village (downtown). There's a boat that comes right into the lobby and takes you to their private island. The island is about a five minute boat ride and has a restaurant, bar, and two beaches (in addition to a lot of iguanas and a couple flamingos).

The private island is awesome - has everything you could want, hammocks between palm trees, flamingos, giant iguanas, and beautiful white sand and turquoise water.

We dove with RedSail out of the Hyatt, which is absolutely gorgeous - would stay there if we went again. The diving was great - lots of wrecks and clear, warm water.

We rented jeeps the last day and explored the island. The concierge at the Sonesta drew us a map and her "our hour tour" took about 6 hours. The other side of the island is pretty spectacular - especially the wind-gnarled trees and the desert landscape. We went to baby beach, the Tunnel of Love caves, and the Natural Bridge (highlight).

The only memorable meal was at the restaurant out by the lighthouse.
