Southwestern Safari

Las Vegas
Andy was in Vegas on business, which provided the perfect opportunity for exploring the Southwest. We spent the first 24 hours in Vegas - and celebrated our wedding anniversary with a gondola ride at the Venetian and dinner at Paris.
Antelope Canyon
Most people have never heard of this place, but have probably seen it before in stock photography used for everything from pharmaceutical ads to inspirational landscapes. Who takes a vacation to visit slot canyons?!?
Monument Valley
Because it's a backdrop for many westerns and automobile ads, most people have seen Monument Valley. But 2-dimensional images simply don't do this landscape justice.
Arches
Arches National Park was a little out of the way, but we figured what the heck There was bound to be a few photo opportunities there. :)
Bryce Canyon
We didn't even intend to stop here, but say a postcard at a gas station and decided to check it out. Good thing we did - it tied with Antelope Canyon for being the highlights of the trip.
Zion National Park
Exactly the opposite of Bryce, but our feet were too tired to do any real exploring. If it wasn't visible from the parking lot, we didn't see it.

In November, we took a road trip through the southwestern US.

This was actually our first road trip in a while, the last one being to the Outer Banks in NC (yikes! there's actually no page for that trip! Maybe it didn't even really happen???).
